Go to Start > Run > and type in eudcedit – this will open up a font editor – allowing you to design your own custom fonts and characters to be used in things like MS Word.

Go to Start > Run > and type in iexpress – a program used for creating self-extracting files

Go to Start > Run > and type in mplayer2 – a simple media player

I know this is something that has happened to many of you because it’s happened to me and I’ve been working on computers for a dozen or so years. You start working on a computer and realize that it is going to need a fresh install of Windows. Your subliminal confidence takes over and convinces you that all of the drivers are going to be recognized after the reload. You doubt it for a second but continue to start the process of reloading the operating system on the computer.

After the reload is complete, you log on for the first time only to realize that most of the hardware on the machine is missing drivers. (yellow exclamation marks in Device Manager) Unfortunately, this also includes the network card which you needed so you could go to the Internet and download the missing drivers from the manufacturer’s Web site. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem because there is usually more than one computer in the house. If not, hopefully like most good on-site tech’s; you’ve got your laptop in your bag.

Well let’s assume the worst. Enter Double Driver.

Double Driver is a FREE, simple and useful tool which not only allows you to view all the drivers installed on your system but also allows you to backup, restore, save and print all chosen drivers simply and reliably.

All drivers that are found can easily be backed up and easily restored from one executable or ISO which you save an run from your flash drive as a portable app.

Double Driver is a stand-alone executable that does not need to be installed. Simply run the executable after reloading Windows and sit back while Double Driver takes over.

Seriously. It’s a PDF viewer. It has one purpose. To view PDF’s. I understand that there have been recent security vulnerabilities that required updates. But come on, what version are we up to now; 10? Why not just download a piece of software without all the crap associated with it. Try Foxit PDF Viewer. It loads up PDF’s faster and runs with a lot less overhead than Adobe Reader.

One suggestion, choose the custom install. It allows you to customize what you want installed minus the toolbar, language packs and other non-essential bloat ware.
