Sync and Share Your Files Easily With Access Anywhere

Dropbox allows you to sync your files online and across your computers automatically.

I’ve been using Dropbox since I first read about it on Lifehacker.com. I loved it even more once they released the Dropbox iPhone app. Now, every computer I use, whether it be my laptop, my computer at work, or computer at home, all of them have Dropbox installed. I can access the files I want, when I want instead of emailing myself or going through connecting to my FTP to transfer the file.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not in love with the “Cloud Computing” concept. It’s simple, I just don’t put sensitive data up in the clouds. Documents, music and photos that are not “personal” and I just need to be able to access is all I’m looking for. I’m not into storing the deed to my house or my password lists up in the cloud. Just use good judgement and I’m sure you’ll love using Dropbox. It may even save you one day.

Here are some of the features available with Dropbox.

* 2GB of online storage for free, with up to 100GB available to paying customers.
* Sync files of any size or type.
* Sync Windows, Mac and Linux computers.
* Automatically syncs when new files or changes are detected.
* Work on files in your Dropbox even if you’re offline. Your changes sync once your computer has an Internet  connection again.
* Dropbox transfers will correctly resume where they left off if the connection drops.
* Efficient sync – only the pieces of a file that changed (not the whole file) are synced. This saves you time.
* Doesn’t hog your Internet connection. You can manually set bandwidth limits.

Dropbox gives you the ability to drag documents, pictures and videos to your “Dropbox”, share them with other users of Drop box and even email them right from your iPhone.

To get started, it’s simple. Download and install the Dropbox software and sign up for a free account. Then decide what other computers you may want to install the software on so you’ll be able to access the documents on those computers. Once you get everything set, you can create a shared folder where you can put your files that you would like other Dropbox users to see.
